Rural Resilience Fund

Financial assistance

Specific industry and community grants program were established under the Queensland Government´s Rural Resilience Community Grants program in 2011 to assist industry and community groups undertake recovery from the impact of Severe Tropical Cyclone Yasi. 

These grants programs have now closed and the successful applicants have been notified.

Industry support

The purpose of this scheme was to provide a grant to Industry Groups for the purpose of conducting activities which will promote economic recovery and future climate risk preparedness. Overall 30 applications were received requesting funding of up to $100,000. A total of 18 projects totalling more than $1.6 million in industry grants were approved to a range of industries to help in the ongoing recovery from Cyclone Yasi. Successful Industry Grant Applications

Community support

The purpose of this scheme was to provide a grant to educational and/or community groups by way of encouraging community ´wellness´ through the provision of educational and community development activities. Overall 68 applications were received requesting funding of up to $50,000 with a total of 41 projects being approved totalling $1.562 million in assistance.
