Your gas supply

Gas customers in Queensland buy their gas from retailers.

Your gas distributor delivers the gas to your home or business via their pipeline networks. Your distributor also inspects, tests, repairs, replaces and maintains its pipelines which eventually connect to your gas meter.

Queensland has two major licensed gas distributors - Envestra and APT Allgas (formerly owned by ENERGEX).

Not all areas have natural gas distribution networks. You will need to contact the natural gas distributor for your area, a retailer or the new connections hotline to see if there is a gas pipeline in your street. If there is, they will explain what needs to be done to connect you, and how much it will cost.

New connections hotline: 1800 007 427

Envestra´s distribution networks are located in the Brisbane CBD, northern suburbs of Brisbane, Ipswich, Gladstone, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Maryborough and Hervey Bay. The APT Allgas networks are located in the southern suburbs of Brisbane, Gold Coast, Toowoomba and Oakey.

There are also two small distribution networks in Roma and Dalby, owned and operated by their respective local governments, that are licensed to supply gas to local customers.
