Queensland has the highest greenhouse gases emissions per person of any Australian state, due to a:

• dependence on coal-fired electricity to power homes and businesses
• relatively large, energy-intensive industry base
• dependence on road transport to get around our vast state.

The Queensland Government´s Toward Q2 strategy sets out an action plan that will help to reduce our state's carbon footprint by implementing a range of programs to help the community reduce their electricity, transport and waste emissions.
