Annual gas market review
The Queensland Government is committed to ensuring adequate gas is available to service demand from both domestic users and the state's developing LNG export industry.
Conducted annually and released in the third quarter, the Gas Market Review (GMR) informs government decision-making on security of domestic gas supply, more effective resource management and the development of a more competitive Queensland gas market.
It includes modelling and analysis of a range of factors, including future pricing, supply-demand balance and demand peak issues, as well as constraints and barriers to market growth and increased competition in the Queensland gas market.
The 2011 GMR focuses on identifying the timing of volume growth and existing load coming to market. It builds on the platform of the first GMR in 2010 to provide a comprehensive picture and detailed analysis of the current state of the Queensland gas market, together with forecasts for future industry growth and participants´ needs.
