Mary Valley Landholdings

Following the cancellation of the Traveston Crossing Dam proposal in 2009, some 13 000 hectares of land remained in government ownership.  In 2012, this comprises some 469 properties with leases, tenancies and other types of agreements in place.  It includes major farming enterprises, town lots in Kandanga and rural residential lifestyle properties.  A significant portion of the land remains under lease to former owners.

In the week of 19 April 2012, The Honourable, Mr Jeff Seeney Deputy Premier and Minister for State Development, Infrastructure and Planning, put a hold to the previous government’s strategy and announced that a new Strategy would be developed that will have the core aim of re-establishing communities within the Mary Valley.

No further properties will be marketed for disposal until the new strategy is finalised.  Properties currently listed with real estate agents or being marketed will remain for sale. More information is available for properties currently for sale (PDF, 780 kB).
