Land acquisition and management
The Office of the Coordinator-General's Land Acquisition and Management branch is responsible for all land acquisitions undertaken by the Coordinator-General (other than for Property Services Group industrial estates). Acquisition of property is undertaken either through the compulsory acquisition process or through commercial negotiations. The branch operates in a statutory environment under legislative provisions, including the State Development and Public Works Organisation Act 1971. The Act provides the Coordinator-General with land ownership, leasing and sale powers; and the Acquisition of Land Act 1967, which is a procedural act for compulsory acquisitions.
The Land Acquisition and Management branch is also responsible for the management and sale of the Mary Valley landholdings held by the Coordinator-General. More information about the Mary Valley landholdings.
