The Coordinator-General may direct a local body to carry out approved works. Sometimes, the Coordinator-General can be directed to carry out approved works.

Programs of works

Key infrastructure projects
Infrastructure projects overseen by the Coordinator-General, including health, residential and commercial, transport, and water projects.

Special purpose vehicles
Legal entities (usually proprietary limited companies) created to fulfil narrow, specific or temporary objectives on behalf of the state government

Prescribed projects
The declaration of a ‘prescribed project’ suspends the jurisdiction of a local body, enabling the Coordinator-General to, if necessary, take control of government processes and decisions.
