Infrastructure facilities of significance
An infrastructure facility of significance designation enables the proponent to apply to have land compulsorily acquired for the facility, if negotiations with the landholder are unsuccessful.

Social impact assessments
Proponents of resource projects are required to assess the project's social impacts and develop a social impact management plan.

Significant projects
Projects of economic, social and/or environmental significance to Queensland. Proponents of many of these projects are required to prepare an environmental impact statement (EIS), which is evaluated by the Coordinator-General.
